Don't mess with dem der YOOPERS!!!

The National Poetry Contest had come down to two
semi-finalists:
a) a Yale graduate;
b) an Upper Michigander.

They were given a single word, then allowed two minutes to come up with a poem containing that word. The word they were given was "TIMBUKTU".

The Yale graduate stepped up the microphone and said:
"SLOWLY ACROSS THE DESERT SAND
TREKKED A LONELY CARAVAN.
MEN ON CAMELS - TWO BY TWO
DESTINATION - TIMBUKTU".

The crowd went crazy! No way could the Yooper top that, they
thought.

The Upper Michigander calmly made his way to the microphone, and recited:
"ME AND TIM A HUNTIN' WENT,
MET T'REE WHORES IN A POP-UP TENT.
DEY WAS T'REE, AND WE WAS TWO
SO I BUCKED ONE, AND TIMBUKTU."

The Yooper won hands down.

A man gets laid up and can't work. He tells his wife that she's going to have to be a hxxker to pay the bills. She is reluctant, but finally agrees. She gets up bright and early one morning, and comes home at about 2 a.m.

"Well", he says, "how did you do today?"

"Not too well", she says,"I only made Twenty-five dollars and twenty five cents..."

"WHAT?" he screams. "Who in the fxck gave you the twenty- five cents?"

"Why, all of them."

does it seem to you that we may be seeing a real come-back for the genre? I know that horror movies have never stopped being made but it seems now that we may be getting back to real good old fashioned gore and ultra-violence. Besides me, who else is glad?

I love both Starbucks and Jamba Juice but I prefer a Mocha Light Frappuccino over Strawberry Smoothie. Both are awesome though.

Chemical use and pollution remain heavy in the industry, but computer manufacturers, at least in the United States, have made progress in reducing their toxic releases. According to EPA's Toxic Release Inventory, computer manufacturers generated 10 million pounds of toxic waste in 1990, two-thirds less than they did in 1987.

I watched a comedy sketch on Blue Collar, about how a group of sports fans were sitting around, missing their game, because the remote control was out of reach, and no one would get up to get it!? Sound Familiar?
