does it seem to you that we may be seeing a real come-back for the genre? I know that horror movies have never stopped being made but it seems now that we may be getting back to real good old fashioned gore and ultra-violence. Besides me, who else is glad?

P.S. - I agree about Hostel. That film really sucked. It had the potential to be really scarey and they just blew it by making the set-up take so long.

i grew up with freddie, jason, michael myers. i miss half naked girls and dopey jocks getting hacked to pieces in bloody, violent form.

Definitely happy there are some good horror movies out nowadays. What I like about the Saw movies is that you never know what is gonna happen next...and ends up being truly scary or at least startling.
Hats off to the new horror movie creators!! Keep em' coming!!

It has been back especially with the advent of DVD. They are sure money makers with the young audiences. They are cheap to make so they always make a profit even if they come straight to dvd. But honestly, I hope they get better because I think they are on their way out of style. People are going to get bored with them in the next few years.
