a bag of jelly beans. Got a clear bag from the dry cleaner, made leg holes, filled it up with balloons and tied a ribbon around my neck-won a contest, lol

I made a "computer" out of a big box and it had a slot for the candy (this was the 60s). It looked great but I couldn't see through the dumb hole so I went home and changed into a bum and finished out the night. It was much more comfortable.
I got an award for being the "Little old Lady from Pasadena." My picture was in the paper.

As a child I learned to be creative, there were 3 of us and although money was not extremely tight we were not spoiled and did not get store bought costumes. One year I got a large box, I cut 2 holes in the bottom and 1 in the top. I wrapped it in pretty gift wrap. Legs in the 2 bottom holes and head in the top hole, a big bow on my head and I was a present. Pretty good, Huh?

I didn't like to dress up. I only wore a mask. My sister and brother were always dressed up because my mom sewed. I didn't like Halloween, only the candy i got.

A ghost with a torn sheet. It amazed me how every year at the same time, a sheet would get ripped.
