What happens after your ride has been pimped??

My daughter loves to watch "Pimp My Ride". I was watching an episode the other day and they did some amazing work on an old beat up limo. Custom made rims, outrageous paint job, several plasma screens (one was like 50 inches), etc...all the amazing stuff I guess they usually do on the show. So my question is...what happens afterwards?? The insurance on these cars must be OUTRAGEOUS..especially since it has been all over TV. Is some of what they do ever street legal (hydrolic hammocks in the trunk...turning the trunk into a rumble seat)??
