For example most people now say Skedule instead of Schedule and Paitriotic instead of Patriotic (think about it- its just plain wrong. Do Americans call someone called Patrick -Paitrick)

"love is an illusion we create to comfort ourselves".

Can someone explain what that means exactly from a females perspective.

The reason I ask is that my ex girlfriend wrote that on her msn message. The day before I moved (to another state) I told her bye, she was sad that i didnt tell her i was moving until the day before.

When I arrived an unpacked and went online, she changed her msn message to "no more illusion, it's gone". Then she posted an old picture of her kissing an ex boyfriend

What does this mean

Why has the media replaced the word 'social' with 'societal'?
These questions, and many more, keep me up at night. In fact, I've been impacted by them. But it's not life-threatening.

To 'decimate' something means to wipe out, by some means, one tenth of its population. The word originated, if I'm not much mistaken, with the Romans, and is somewhat self-explanatory. So, how come it is endlessly used to refer to the destruction of huge quantities of something? It's even described as such in dictionaries now. If you're talking about wiping out 99% of the population, aren't words like 'destroy', 'annihilate', even 'wipe out' so much better?
