I have seen many ambulances where on its rear the word
"AMBULANCE" is written as if reflected to left/right or as if it's written upside down. is there any history attached to it or some sort of technicality.
thanks

hi, can someone please help me translate the following sentence so i can get a better understanding?

"what can thy silence do for him, except it tempt him to add hypocrisy to sin?"

(they "thy" in the sentence refers to a lady who committed adultry during the puritan time and she would not tell who the man she had had an affair with, and the quote is asked by someone to her)

what does is mean by "to add hypocrisy to sin"?

Wanna speak but couldn't? Then post your comments.

when your quoting words in a sentence, what comes first? the close quatation or the period?

so for example,
**
1. Before the break, she signed up for the "Big Brother, Big Sister Volunteer Program".

2. Before the break, she signed up for the "Big Brother, Big Sister Volunteer Program."

which sentence is right??
you see, in the 1st one, close quotation comes first before the period but in the 2nd one, period comes first.
