not positive but it seems like it is derived from sacrament which is like a religious ceremony.

Sanctimony: quality of being a hypocrite.
Acrimony: bitterness.
These could be the words you have in mind.

No. Do you mean sanctimony? Doesn't sanctimony mean false, hypocritical, like sanctimonious, like saying one thing and doing another?
