Do they just go on for thousands of years?

in english you can't use a diphtong before a doble consonant ( I'm talking about pronunciation). That's the reason why in MASS you pronounce /mas/
GLASS you pronounce /glas/
PULL you pronounce /pul/

There are a few exceptions for this rule. For instance in:
ROLL you pronounce /roul/
GROSS you pronounce /grous/

Can you think of any other word which share this feature?

Thanks for answering!!!!
regards!!!!

Okay I'm gonan start with a set of words and the next person adds a next set of words so on and so on until we have a long sentence. If you don't want to play, don't write at all.... Okay.. Now for ex. let's say I write:

The girl walked to

the second person would say
The girl walked to the edge of the lake

the third person would say
The girl walked to the edge of the lake and fell over

and so on....

That's it... Now the set of words are....
