WORK =
1) Activity directed toward making or doing something
2)A product produced or accomplished through the effort or activity or agency of a person or thing
3)The occupation for which you are paid
JOB =
1)The principal activity in your life that you do to earn money
2)A specific piece of work required to be done as a duty or for a specific fee
3)An object worked on; a result produced by working
4)A crime (especially a robbery) e.g - "bank job"
Well, those are a few excerpts from the WordWeb Dictionary.
But personally, i guess there's a very very thin line distinguishing the two words.... and very few conversation demands the demarcation between the two words- job and work!!
Not sure, if it had ur query answered, but shud have thrown some more light on ur thinking process!! Goodluck!! :)

If someone asked me what I do for work I'd say I worked with developmentally disabled adults to help them better their lives and live well in the community. If someone asked me what my job was I'd say that I am a Case Manager and I monitor provider services and assist disabled in finding programs they need.

Well, WORK can mean any action, like working at getting your homework done, working at filing paperwork, etc...
A JOB is usually what you do for money. Also, some people work and hate it. Some people have jobs and love them.
