does it mean just to make someone laugh out loud? Or does it imply boisterous, even to some extent uncontrolled laughter?
Thanks for helping an English teacher abroad.

My random train of thoughts led me this morning to thinking about this. I'm trying to think of words with the prefix in- where "in" means not (whatever the rest of the word means).
Such as
insane
infinite
indefinite
indescribable
incorrigible

REAL WORDS please. I have a dictionary I could just look it up in, but I thought it would be more fun to post and see what answers you guys could come up with.

These must be the most abused homonyms in the English language. It is such a turnoff to see them misused. Honestly, no matter what someone's education level is, this mistake will make them appear stupid. Why does the confusion persist?

there is a phrase in this paragraph I cannot understand, can anybody explain it to me? Im not a native speaker.

"When you come in to make a proposal to me," says Warner, president of J.P.Morgan & Co., Incorporated, "assume that everything that you just told me appears tomorrow on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Are you going to be proud to have handled this transaction or handled this situation in the way you just recommended, assuming full transparency? If the answer to that is no, then we're going to stop right here and examine what the problem is."

what does exactly "assuming full transparency" mean? can anyone make it easier to be understood? thanks a lot
