We have just started the new year and we are at a new school. How long does the school have, by law, to put together an IEP? I thought it was 10 days from the time the student started at the school. Thank you

okay so I’m in special ed. i "read at a fourth grade level” I’m always hated reading I just didn’t find it fun. My mom says I’m “developementally behind",I believe I’m was born the wrong year. i’m 17 but I get treated like I’m 15. I cant spell and I cant do high school math.i'm going into 11th and i still havent passed algebra one (a month ago I found out how to spell “afraid”) At the end of this last year my school said they cant accommodate to my needs. my school is a small charter school. Can they say that??? I also have a couple behavior issues.
[When I was little I have undiagnosed ADHD. And my father had sex with me, many times. He also physically abused me.]<- told you this so you know why I act the way I do.

So anyways can my little charter school say they cant handle me???
what are your thoughts?

I have a 16 year old son,who is soon to be 17.He is still in the 9th grade. He has trouble catching on to his school work,i guess. He is starting to get frustrated with school because of this. It's getting even more frustrating since he is so far behind everyone else. What direction do you think is best for him at this point? He lives in Richmond,VA.Is there any grants or special programs there to help him get back into his right grade or help him to just move on and learn? He also is starting to hang out and getting in all sorts of trouble.
