Plavix is a medicine used to help frevent high risk people from having a stroke or a heart attack. If plavix has been prescribed for you it probably means you have already had a heart attack or stroke or you have poor circulation, especially in your legs.

It is used to prevent plaque (cholesterol) from sticking to stents; it's used in conjunction with other medicine such as blood thinners & aspirin. A stent is placed inside a blood vessel or artery to open it up when cholesterol build up has blocked the flow of blood to the heart, causing a heart attack.

platelet aggregation inhibitor. prevents platelets from sticking together therefore preventing clots.
