This is a quote by Marlene Dietrich. I thought it would probly bring some debate if i posted it on here. To some, it may be offending. To some, it may just be a belief. To me, it means that we do not need to worry about what happens to us after we die...simply that we do die. I am not Athiest, and I do not believe we just disapear after we die, but I do not really belive anything in particular. All the beliefs of this matter are possible in my eyes, and I am not trying to shut out excess oportunities.

Tell me what you think.

"It's a midget with a giant right arm." That may be a paraphrase. I can't find anything about this quote online, so may have it wrong. Does it ring any bells for you?

I know that the USSR no longer exists. However, I am researching Stalin and remember hearing a quote like this. I looked at Wikiquote, but still nothing. Also, I do know what it means; I just want to know who said it so I can attribute the quote in a paper I'm writing. Thanks.

Our Greatest Fear
Marianne Williamson from her book A Return to Love

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

If it will help at all here is the passage: "Beyond the screen of leaves the sunlight pelted down and the butterflies danced in the middle their unending dance." Pleez try to keep the quotes sophisticated. Thanks

i think i can understand it if someone puts it in other words. "mother kite once sent her daughter to bring food. She went, and brought back a duckling. 'you have done very well,' said mother kite to her duckling, ' but tell me, what did the mother of this duckling say when you swooped and carried its child away?' 'It said nothing, 'replied the young kite. 'It just walked away.' 'You must return the duckling, 'said mother kite. 'There is something ominous behingthe silence.' And so daughter kite returned the duckling and took a chick instead.'what did the moher of this chick do?' asked the old kite. 'it cried and raved and cursed me,'said the young kite. ' then we can eat the chick, ' said her mother. 'there is nothing to fear from someone who shouts.'
