"It's a midget with a giant right arm." That may be a paraphrase. I can't find anything about this quote online, so may have it wrong. Does it ring any bells for you?

I know that the USSR no longer exists. However, I am researching Stalin and remember hearing a quote like this. I looked at Wikiquote, but still nothing. Also, I do know what it means; I just want to know who said it so I can attribute the quote in a paper I'm writing. Thanks.

Wow you got me there. I was a student of the Russian history (as a hobby) from 1907 to 1945 ish and I do not recall hearing that quote.

You may want to research the Great Terror / Purge, forced collectivization and the huge amount of people that were killed under Stalin's rule. I am not sure of the actual number of people slaughtered but I understand it to be close to 60,000,000. I could be off base on that figure but it sticks in my head. Stalin was the worst mass butcher of people. Nobody cries for the dead Russians. It is a story that needs to be told.

Stalin also ruthlessly removed anyone that he considered a threat to him including Trotsky (one of the fathers of the Bolshevik revolution) and a large number of military officers.

You may want to check out quotes by Winston Churchill (he called the USSR's takeover of Eastern Europe an "iron curtain"). You may also want to look at the Marshall Plan.
