I am Korean. I have a BA in English Language and literature. and a MA in English Education. I have been working as an English teacher in my country. I like children. So I want to be a Kindergarten teacher in CA. I want to know whether I have to go back to university or to a graduate school for the study of early childhood education in USA.

I have tried everything that I know. I have tried hooked on phonics, tape recordings, reading to him, helping him with every word. I have literally tried everything that I know, does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!!! He gets real nasty, says he hates this, it's stupid, a waste of his time. Is there any free material that's easy to get ahold of, or does any one have a method that you use that works very well. Again I pled, please help me!!
Thank You.

I think my daughter has ADD but not sure. She will be tested soon at her elementary. Is there anything that I can do to help her focus better and pay attention more? This is causing her a lot of problems in and out of school. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Every Thursday parents are invited to cook with my daughters kindergarten class. I have been reluctant to participate due to the fact that one of her classmates is severely allergic to nuts. He has been sent to the hospital many times this year due to contact with nut.reactions. They have asked that we do not even serve nuts or nut butter for breakfast before sending our children to school. We have even been asked to not use shampoo that might contain nut oils. I need easy recipes that 5 and 6 year olds can participate in. We have a full kitchen to use.
Thank you so much,

I work at a daycare and we're having trouble thinking of stuff for the kids to do during the nasty weather...we prefer they don't go out during the colder days (and they're never aloud to during the rainy ones) and we just need some good tips and advice of what we can do instead!! Keep in mind...there's days when we have up to twelve kids and three adults...so things get crazy and we can't do anything too time involving too much attention and supervision to each individual child.

There is typically two or three adults and 9 kids (just an adv. on the kids)

I sometimes think the teacher treats them like short adults instead of children. How do you feel? Please no parent or teacher bashing...it's not nessasary.

My wife works at a day care where my son attends Pre-K. She has not been to work for 4 weeks due to medical problems. We have yet had to pay since she has been an employee. Today her boss had an attitude with me about her not being at work and we explained she had 2 surgeries back to back with in a week and provided all notes from the doctors. She had stated that the owner ( Her mother ) said that since she was not at work we would have to pay for his pre-k. Now his pre-k is state funded and the school charges 20.00 per week for lunch. She hit me with this 140.00 bill and said it was past due. Being she had never charged us before can she legeally start now? I will be calling the local BBB to get their opinion as far as im concerned she can take me to small claims court.

The kids can cut pretty good and they love to paint and color. So any sort of project that has something to do with Diamonds (the shape) would be wonderful.
Thanks.

My two year old (29 months, to be exact) son asks to sit on the potty (we have a seat insert that goes on the big one) and then just sits there and does nothing. He doesn't consistantly ask, but when he does we put him in there. A few months ago we were activily traning him, but he lost intrest, and i thought it was better to wait a bit and try again than force it on him.

Is him occassonally asking to sit on the potty to be taken as a sign he's ready to try again? How do i help him understand the the potty is for peeing in and not just a fun chair at diaper changes? He come to the bathroom with me, infact i usually can't pee alone between my 4yr old, him and my 1 yr old. So he's seen the potty in action, but he just doesn't do his thing. any suggestions?

I have just started potty training my 2 1/2 year old boy...like most toddlers, he really isn't all that interested...we went to Target, picked out some cute Diego undies, a little potty and some hershey kisses to give as a reward for using the potty...I would love to hear from some other mommies and what worked for them! Thanks a bunch!!!
