The UK Standards Site has a good scheme of work called "Growing Plants" - it is aimed at Year 1 but you could make changes as necessary.
Go to http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/ then scroll to the bottom - hit 'schemes of work' and choose science as the subject. Have fun.

Demonstrate things that you can watch grow in a period of a few minutes or less; showing that not everything takes a long time to grow. Things such as shadows, dry sponges, deflated balls or tires, dough, balloons, etc.. Before the lesson show an object and have them guess how you can make it grow. For example, deflated tires grow by adding air. After the lesson the kids can interact with the objects and cause them to grow.

We cut a large egg tray into strips (a section of about six eggs in a strip), the children painted it green and drew a face on a circle of paper which we attached to the front and attached pipecleaner 'anntenae'. We then put wet cotton wool in each 'egg' space and the children sprinkled on cress seeds which quickly grew into a caterpillar.

Bring in pictures of yourself at various ages and put them on a felt board or something. Like first a newborn picture, then age 2, age 5, age 10, age 15, etc. and then a now picture. They can see how you have grown.

Social activities... such as naming names and their individual parents to recognize their individuality and of others too. Not expert on this but this is a mere suggestion for outreach activities.
