My son started full time in Spain (not compulsory) at the age of three. By the age of six I can´t but wonder the differences between his education and that of his "peers" in Spain. It also enables parents to find a full time job. What is going on in this country with children´s education. Is this just a matter of money?

I need a sand and water table activity for preschoolers on Home Safety. I'm drawing a blank. It can be as easy as putting something in the sand and water table for them to explore with (ie, plastic toy dinosaurs).

Isn't pre k (or 4 year old) program a required class? Is this legal? What happened to our constitutional right to a free education? Please only serious answers. Is this not reverse discrimation?

My son will be five in July. My husband and I can't decide if we should send him to Kindergarten or wait another year. Besides being a boy and having a late birthday; he also has Early-Onset Bipolar Disorder. The school said that they could accomodate him, give him an IEP, put him in a smaller class, and give him a one-on-one aid, but I am still not sure what would be best. He is in a great preschool now where he could stay another year. My husband and I just are not sure what would be best for our son. He does not like change, accademically I think that he is ready, but socially and behaviorally no. What would be the advantages and disadvantages of waiting another year?

Please tell me if i'm overracting. My son just started daycare 3 weeks ago and when I pick him up after being there for 7-8, his nose is never clean. It's usually got a small crusty like boogerish look to it. Now mind you, he's caught his first few common colds since he's been there (he's 1 years old), so part of it is due to his nose running(draining). Today I mentioned to her when I dropped him off that I packed extra towels and wipes in his bag to wipe his nose with. It's annoying because I feel its nasty and it's really kinda dirty. I could never pick him up and take him directly somewhere without wiping his nose out. She takes care of him and 6 other lil' ones, all under the age of 3-4, with no helper. I'm thinking she probably doesn't have time to wipe his nose out, but with him eating and her changing him you'd think she'd wipe his nose at least one during the day. How do I solve this problem or is this not a big deal. I know a dirty nose won't hurt him but still! oh what to do?

I am willing to train as much as is necessary. I want to own and run a Day Nursery to provide the type of childcare that I would have liked to have had for my children.

my daughter is 19mnths old and has down syndrome...i am quite sure i would like her to go to mainstream school. my mother seems to think that this is a bad idea and is worried about her being bullied..its a long way off yet but i need to get her name down early so the nursery staff can start a support plan...she is doing really well..better than what was expected actually..and her early intervention worker seems to think that mainstream is the better option and thinks that she will cope really well. but i must admit im nervous about this as anyone on here had a similair experiences in starting a child with a learning disability in a mainstream school?
