It teaches you how to share in responsibility and coexist.
When you work as a team you show respect to others by accepting their input. It also shows you that you don't always have to carry the world on your shoulders, and sometimes you can share the load. Thats what my mom said when i was 10 .lol

perception is the key word here...... see we all percieve situations in a different way.... There for we will all have different ways to deal with task in question.
We are all totaly unique and we all have our own strenghts and weaknesses.
by working as a team it gives everyone a chance to use their strentghs to combat the weakness in the group and therefore do the job in a more successful way.
when dealing with children you need a never ending supply of ideas. i run a youth club and i have a very good team of youth workers. We bounce ideas of each other and polish ideas up so they work with our kids. Since taking over the club our youngsters have grown and become more respectfull. without their co operation we probably would have folded.

i guess what counts in a team is acceptance of each other and a willingness to share ideas and take someone elses ideas on board.

teamwork teaches kids how to share, how to tollerate each other and how to accept that sometimes its ok to stand back and let a more able person do the job.

I work in a team of chefs. If we didn't communicate, didn't support one another and didn't listen and take on board the ideas of the rest of the team, then we would fail in our mission to have a good service and consistently produce good quality meals for our guests. If there is a lot of bickering and back biting within a team then that team would struggle to deliver those same standards and would eventually implode and fragment.

For young children especially team work builds trust, compromise and sharing.
For children and teens it instills in them that asking for help is not a bad thing, and that helping someone else is a positive experience.
For adults it allows us to practice independance yet compromise. It allows us to have respect for others who helping us, teaches us the use the words 'thank you' and 'I need help' - which many adults have forgotten.
