On one hand, you have A-levels which are supposedly too easy and that too many are passing them. On the other hand, You have to take into consideration that the average IQ of a UK student is around 120-125; a fair bit above average. Also, teaching methods are becoming better and better, espeally for special needs. More and more dyslexic student are leaving school with decent A-level grades, something that only 10 years ago was considered imposisble by teachers and professionals alike.

Could it be a mixture of both? Easy A-levels combined with Smart students? And whats is wrong with "too many" high achivers?! surely thats a good thing!

I think its unfair for people to say A-levels are too easy, because for those doing them they can be a very stressfull time, as their results directly affect which Uni takes them and therfore how well they may do for the rest of thier lives.

What do you think?

I'm so conflicted. I decided to come to UC Davis because I thought that once I got in I had to go. Now I'm realizing the costs and its just my general education. Plus I'm not doing so good in the ge classes that I am currently taking. I know its my first quarter but I kind of want to know what the difference is between a University of California degree v. a State school degree in the working world.

I have to do a presentation on my paper about diversity and I am drawing a blank. We are allowed to pick whatever way we present our paper. He has given us some ideas such as a poem, art, greeting card, powerpoint...ect. None of those ideas really catch my interests and I am at a stand still. Will somebody please give me some ideas.

Asked before, but added info, and no one's been able to answer.

Hard to explain, but I'm looking for the term for what these would've been...if they even existed.

They are mitts or gloves of sorts, without fingers. Each one would've been 2 pieces and would've had key locks of sorts on the outside. The hand and wrist would've been set inside, then the top put over it. Each would have a "shelf" inside with a curved cut out, to allow for a tight fit, around the wrist and fist, then lock together. They would've been made of metal...iron? Not actually hand cuffs but whole hand or fist cuffs.

Also, how much would one weigh if made of iron?

I'm writing a story where I've a magical character, who is "shackled" in these things so she can't use her hands in casting spells.

Cuffs, shackles, and Manacles are all just around the wrist, leaving the hand exposed. Needs to be like a oven mitt without the thumb...but iron.

A recently released Pentagon report is raising new worries that Iran has been operating several large facilities designed solely for the purpose of enriching mass quantities of high-grade students."We have reason to believe that specially trained Iranian science teachers are taking raw, unrefined brain power and bombarding it with knowledge at accelerated levels," said U.S. Undersecretary Of Defense For Intelligence Stephen Cambone at a Tuesday press conference. "If current levels of student concentration remain this high, Iran could be a mere five to eight years away from developing an atomic scientist."Leading analysts believe that the teachers are using a widely applied enrichment process in which students are isolated from such elements as family, play, and cartoons, and are rotated through seven separative work units over the course of each day.
