I'm so conflicted. I decided to come to UC Davis because I thought that once I got in I had to go. Now I'm realizing the costs and its just my general education. Plus I'm not doing so good in the ge classes that I am currently taking. I know its my first quarter but I kind of want to know what the difference is between a University of California degree v. a State school degree in the working world.

Don't be conflicted. It's easy...if your primary concern is money, go to community college and transfer later. Save about 2 years worth of UC fees in community colleges, for real! UC offers up to Ph.D and State Universities only offer up to Master's Degree. UC, of course, is bigger and better financial offerings. If you are going to major in sciences, UC's are better because they have more money to fund researches. Other than that, the Bachelor's Degree is the same. One cannot discriminate a person from UC and State in the working world since some perfect A's students go to State just because it is close to home and less debt for college money. What really matters is that how you define yourself after you get out from college...Good luck with the rest of your quarters...Don't give up!!!...Don't think community college is academically easy too...

No difference, whatsoever.

In the business world, pretty much a degree is a degree.

Simply the cost of tuition.
