i'm thinking of dropping AP economics and swtiching to honors due to my cluelessness on the matter. we only do it for half a year though and then switch to gov. but then take the AP tests. i'm worried for that and the other tests in that class. junior year is just being a pain and another stress spot i don't need.
any advice?

Lets say you are in the deep north of Alaska trudging around in the snow for some unknown reason. You are getting cold and start to look for shelter. Shortly afterwards you find a little abandoned log cabin and quickly make your way to it. Inside the cabin you notice some weathered old furniture, a wood stove (with a pile of wood by it), an oil lamp (with oil in it), and an old torch lying on the floor. You know you have to make a fire to stay warm.
The wood stove will stay warm for a very long time but might be difficult to light. The oil lamp will be easy to light however but wont give off much heat and will only burn for so long until it runs out of oil. The torch would be the easiest to light but it looks in bad condition and it might fall apart after being lit.
In your pocket is a book of matches that has just one match left in it. The match can light only one item before going out.
So now the question comes down to which one of the items you will light first and why.

My family and I immigrated from Russain to United States five yeas ago. That was one
meaningful even that I will never forget. Flying for strait 12 hours from Russia to United States
we landed in LAX at 1:00 o'clock in a morning. Getting out of the air plain we went to tamorsha
to get our 12 bags, each bag waited 50 pounds. From tamorsha I dragged my self with 2, 50
pounds bags on both of my shoulders to the parking lot; where my dads friend Mike waited to
pick us up on his white Chevy 12 seat van. In a van we drove for 3 more hours to a place which
we called a home for two months, until we could find cheap apartments.
When we finally arrive to a big house, my family and I were surprised, nobody told us
that we will live in a two story house. We eagerly took your bags from a van forgetting of
the excitement how tired we were, and dragged all bags inside the house. House was really old
out side but inside it looked like new, also inside the house it smelled like paint. Mike told us that
this house was build in 70's. We left all our bags in the living room. Mike than showed us around
the house, where were the bathrooms, kitchen and more important to us at that time bedrooms.
In most of the rooms there weren't any furniture except in the bedrooms. After a tour in a house I
slowly climbed to a second floor by stares. While I was climbing on the second floor I though I
will pass out of the weakness right on those stairs, but I didn't. I climbed all the way and waddled
to the first bedroom I saw with a bed already done for sleeping. I didn't even took my clothes off
I just fall right on a bed and pass out.
The next day I woke up at 2:00 p.m, because of the beams of light that were lightening
my eyes trough slightly opened curtain. Even after sleeping of I was so tired, so I got up really
slowly, and went to the bathroom on the same floor. After getting out of the bathroom, I was
queries how the nature looks in US, so I went down by the stairs on the first floor quietly trying
not to wake anybody up. On the first floor I was searching for a door that will take me outside of
the house. I tried to look trough the windows, but I couldn't see anything because of the closed
wooden jalousie out side the house, and of the dirty glass. Searching for a couple of minute's,
finally I found the door, I didn't even open it and I already new that this door will take me out
side. I new it because of the squared shapes that door had, and by the golden handle.

I strode to the door and put my hand on the handle to open the door, surprisely at that time for
me handle was hot. I turned the handle and opened the door slowly, and the beams of sun blinded
me, I shut my eyes instead of shutting the door. I start opening my eyes little by little until my eyes
got used to the sun. I make few steps out of the house while I was squinting my eyes to see what
was outside, and ow boy was I amazed, I was shocked by the view and weather. The hottest wind
which I have never experience like this one before, with dust was blowing in my white paled face,
cooking it. The trampled ground that I was standing on was so hot, that it felt like I was standing on
heated pan. There weren't any trees, rivers, not even a life grass. Instead I saw naked dark browned
mountains 10 miles from the house we were living in, and the mountains were all around us, so it felt
like we were living in some kind of a bowl. There weren't any houses around as far as my eye can see.
There weren't any sound of a leaving creatures except sound of a hot blowing wind. Looking at all this
I asked my self, "Where in a world am I, is that how all US looks like?" After I asked my self this
questions I start to backing up back in side the house. With out even looking where am I going,
I stepped on some kind of spikes; it felt like thousand of needls pierced into my foot. Later I found out
from Mike, that this spikes growing on some kind of weeds.
The next day Mike came to visit us. I asked Mike with waived voice, "Does all US look
like this place?" Mike saw that I was worried, so he told me with smile that all states look different.
That states have different weather in some states its snowing, in the other ones its raining none stop,
and in the few states like California its hot all the time. Also he told me that behind those mountains
there are three cities Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victor Valley. That in thoes cities there is schools,
colleges and etc. there is more people over this mountains and etc. When I heard this I was so
relieved, because I already had a moment to think, that we will live like in a Moses days, living in
a desert, home schooling and etc.
