Several people were accused of being Communists and, if memory serves, many Japanese-Americans were placed in internment camps.

We are seeing it now with our Muslims in this country. A very nice man in our community who runs an ethnic grocery store and is originally from Iraq and is not supportive of the war had his house raided this weekend by the FBI. He is not a terrorist, he just knows (like me) that the war is wrong and has been talking about his opinions. VERY scary. Am I next? McCarthyism taught us the true meaning of paranoia and that our constitutional right of freedom of speech only applies if your view complies with the government's view. Thomas Jefferson said that "Dissent is the truest form of patriotism", but I think our leaders have forgotten that. Thank you for allowing my little rant, I feel better now... LOL
