I'm going to Largo, Florida near Clearwater tommorow, I'm going to be a sophomore in HS, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could take local Marine Bio classes in the area or near there. It could be in Clearwater as well. If you can also tell me relatively how much it would cost and how many times a week it would be, that would be great also.

Last night the wife and I went to our daughter's school to get a year end progress report. We, and all the other parents, were told there would no longer be a grade school honor roll printed in the local paper because it's not fair to the kids that didn't make it. I was steamed. Now we can't acknowledge what our kids achieve academically?
Then for my daughter's b-day party she could not pass out invites in class. They had to be mailed, so as not to hurt feelings of the uninvited. This is up there with everyone gets a card on Valentine's Day. Argh!
Also the other day my daughter participated in some competitons at school... and came home with a "participant ribbon". EVERYONE gets a ribbon!
BUT... the real world doesn't work like this. Better they find that out now then when they graduate high school or college.
Am I just too much of a hard @ss? When I was a kid I survived not getting cards or ribbons. It's a part of life.
How do you feel about this issue?

I know back in the 80s or 90s it was going to happen then it just faded away. I watch motor racing and see that they are now talking in kilometres. Was this recently re-introduced? Just curious.

Im a girl and the other day in class a teacher told me i had to sit next to a dum boy, is not that i don't like him but he is like one of the dummest in my class, he never speaks and he is always silent well he only has like one friend and no one really likes him plus he is from another country. I was so sad when the teacher told me i had to sit by him that i started to cry. The boy told me when he saw me crying ''don't worry maybe later the teacher changes your sit again'' he did and i got to sit next to a boy i like.
When i got home i felt a bit sorry for having cryied over that but there is no way in the world i would apologise to him. I was just wondering how do you think the boy felt? Could this affect him?

I am taking a medical transcription course on line. I have having a hard time with the medical terminology. I have always learned better 'hands-on'. Is this something that will become easier once I start actually doing it? Or is it something that I have to get down before I start?
