What do your schooled children do during the three months of summer vacation.... Does socialization come to a halt? Do they not learn anymore? Do they volunteer? Are they happy? If younger, do they go to daycare? If older, are they alone or with you? If you can't afford day camp, what other ways do you ensure that your children are socialized?

Thanks.

i think games like grand theft auto san andreas are of great benefit to children and they should be actively encouraged. it's great to know our children have a wide knowledge of firearms, explosives, larceny, pimping, cold blooded murder, gang culture and a total disregard for authority. added bonuses are learning to drive a wide variety of vehicles and aircraft. plus the moral of the game is that drugs are for losers. all that said who needs schools when our kids can receive a real education from the comfort of their bedrooms whilst eating junk food and not exercising. three cheers for video games.

Instead of going to a Public or a Private school, some parents choose to teach their kids at home to shield them from bullying and other bad things that go on at schools. Most of the time, the child ends up being too shielded and will have a heart-attack once he finds out what the world is like.

This is what I think of it, I am a home-schooler myself yet I have gone to public schools and chose to school myself at home.

(Home schooling is real schooling, real text books that certain home-schooling companies send you yet all you do is learn at home. Some people love it and some people do not, what is your opinion?)

My 16 yr old daughter started cyber schooling this year. So far she loves it. I'm wondering if anyone has kids that have learned this way. I previously homeschooled the older kids, but this seems to be working better for her.

I am a homeschool mom and I also have 2 preschoolers. Okay, here is the problem...I am finding it very difficult to keep the preschooler occupied while homeschooling the school age children. They want to the same thing as the older children and tend to distract the older from being able to focus on their school work. What are some ideas that I can try to keep the little bug-a-boos busy?

I'm a public school French and Spanish teacher (for 20 years) and I am considering offering lessons online. Is this something homeschoolers would be interested in? It would be offered through Yahoo Messenger so it would use voice and be live. The cost would be very minimal if I could get a decent sized group (I'm not in it for the money, but to help homeschoolers and others learn languages).
