They are both spherical bodies in space, they both have sufficient mass to remain spherical, thats about it. Now do your homework.

There are hardly any similarities at all.

Our Sun is a star, all the planets in our solar system are minute compared to the sun. You can see the planets because they reflect light, however, a star gives off light of it's own.

Our own Sun is quite a small star actually and we are just a tiny planet revolving around it once a year . . . . . kinda makes you feel small . . . . .

Stars are much larger than planets & give out heat. Planets do not give out heat.

Stars give out light - a result of electromagnetism due to nuclear fusion - they are basically nuclear power plants.
