My gpa is a 3.6 (weighted) and I have an SAT score of 2030. I have a few extras- mock trial, peer mediation, and a few random clubs. I've done a lot of volunteer work and interned with the Republican Party. What are my chances of getting into a UC? (Davis, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, etc?)

I am current a community college students in California, i plan to transfer to some UC. But before i enrolled in CC. i had enrolled in a university outside the U.S. for like half year before i immigrated here and i had bad grade at that time(cause i didnot study hard at that time) Now i study really hard in CC in order to transfer to a good university. So can i omit my academic history in my own country and just put C.C. i am in right now as the college i only enrolled in?

Will they find out?

Please don't be offended (that is why a put "smart" in quotations) but, I graduated summa *** laude from an ivy league institution and am 3 credits shy of my doctoral degree in science...just wondering who is out there with similar (or better!) qualifications...sometimes i feel like my peers can't relate to my education/intellectual ability.

I'm hating my high school life right now because I only have few friends and I can't find the sort of friend who share my interests and is most like me. I also had bad experiences of being teased and overlooked by certain people because I'm usually quiet in class. (This year though I'm out of that problem because the sort of people who teased me are in normal classes while I now mostly have AP classes)
From what movies portray, colleges seem just like high school with all of those parties and all that, but I'm not the kind of party person and would hate to have that kind of a roommate. I like quiet environments where people respect other each other.
From your experience, generally do university students differ from high school students?

It seems like the people who start working right away after high school are better off 4 to 6 years later. The ones who go to college have lots of debt and a hard time finding a well paying job, but the non-college crowd seem to build seniority in their jobs and often qualify for college reimbursement.

I am interested in a career in psychiatry. I read online on a career planning website that you should be social, and can expect about four years training minimum. it also said that it is a growing industry with few openings. They said you should take English courses, and i take AP, with Psychology and AP History. I was wondering if any psychiatrist could give me any suggestions or tell me what it is like and how you chose to follow that path? (thanks)

About the SAT II's,

1. How is it different than SAT I?
2. What year in high school do you take it?
3. Do colleges require it?
4. Which subjects do you take? Or do you choose?
5. Do you take a subject after you learn it in high school or can you take a subject even if you didn't learn it in high school?
6. Do colleges have to see all the SAT II tests you take?

If somebody can give me more information about the SAT II, it would be greatly appreciated!
