I want to go to school to be an elementary school teacher but, I don't understand how they get paid. Do they get paid for the 10 months that they work or do they get paid for the whole year (12 months) even though they are not working 2 of those months. If a teacher could answer my question that would be great.

So, technically I have to interview someone older than 70 and ask them 20 questions about...life, or whatever. We have 8 questions already given, as follow:
1) What are the most technological advancements in your lifetime?
2) What did you think when the bomb was dropped on Japan?
3) What was the Great Depression like?
4) What was school like?
5) What is the biggest problem with society today?
6) Who was your favorite president?
7)
a. Is recycling important?
b. What did you recycle?
8) What are the most important things in your life?

I need some suggestions for what the other 12 questions should be.

Thanks.

alright... back in the 1900s we spoke of the year like nineteen something... "nineteen thirty six," "nineteen sixty nine," "nineteen eighty four"... that sorta thing. we do the same for the 1800s and every century for a ways back. my question is when do you think people will start using the word "twenty" instead of saying "two thousand." its just faster. my guess is when we get into the teens. saying "twenty sixteen" is faster than saying "two thousand sixteen." what are your thoughts? we'll switch the way we say it eventually, thats for sure.

I was curious on how much you have to donate to get in to a top school, say University of Michigan or Notre Dame? $1 million, $50,000, $20 million?....
And how would you go about asking the school about the donation? Do you ask straightforward or kind of hint it?

I am teaching 9th grade and for one day I have to do a whole study on Mexico. My class will be with me for 80 minutes, and I want to fill up that whole time with fun activites that let the kids interact and learn about Mexico and its past. I was thinnking of using "Jeopardy" as a game to help the kids learn. Basically I will separate the kids into teams and ask them questions, earning them candy if they are correct. This isn't enough to fill the whole day though...what other activites should I do? I would appreciate the help...A New Teacher

im doing a research paper about teachers touching children (in positive, non-sexual ways), and given the anxiety about child sexual abuse, do you guys think that there should be touch policies regarding teachers touching young children in school (preschool and elementary school) and young childcare settings? Should touch be allowed, or should there be a no-touch policy? Should touch be limited? Should touch be able to be used freely (given that its not sexual or physically abusive)? Any and all opinions will help me open my mind to alternate views and ideas that I havent come across in the literature and in my own thinking. Thanks!!
