I am teaching 9th grade and for one day I have to do a whole study on Mexico. My class will be with me for 80 minutes, and I want to fill up that whole time with fun activites that let the kids interact and learn about Mexico and its past. I was thinnking of using "Jeopardy" as a game to help the kids learn. Basically I will separate the kids into teams and ask them questions, earning them candy if they are correct. This isn't enough to fill the whole day though...what other activites should I do? I would appreciate the help...A New Teacher

In Mexico we play "Loteria" which is like Bingo but in stead of numbers we have some pictures and I think it would be interesting because that way your class will learns some spanish words such as
"La muerte" (the death) "El caballero" (the gentlemen), "La Bandera" (the flag), and you can find the game on the internet and just print the pictures, it would be easy...

Here is a website where you can find the cards and you just click them to find the others...

Good Luck!

candy. for. 9 graders. what are you, a moron? give them 10 bucks, it should be enough for the wasteful time they have to spend with a teacher who doesnt even know how to spell activities.

you could try teaching them some traditional mexican songs like "cielito lindo", "la cucaracha", "la bamba", etc. You could teach them about some of the heroes of the mexican revolution. You could teach them about some of the customs like "dia de los muertos". You could have them color maps.

¡Buena suerte!
