Specifically, not just sing it, but identify letters. Is this something that isn't mastered until kindergarten. What about numbers, 1 thru 10? What would be considered an early age?

I meet every college's requirement for transferring. I have a 3.0, you must have a 2.5 to change schools. I am applying to difficult schools like The College of NJ, UNC-Chapel Hill...what are my chances of getting into these schools? Just by meeting all their requirements, can I get into the schools? I am trying to keep my GPA up and get into Phi Theta Kappa.

Is this some sort of backwards Kentucky thing or what? How can this actually make sense to Kentuckians. The mascot is supposed to represent the team and the students. If there was only 1 player on the team or 1 student I could understand this, but there's not. I don't think there are any other singular mascot names out there. Anybody got an explanation for this or know of any other mascot names that aren't pluralized??? Come on Kentucky, please lay off the booze and stop mating with your cousins.

I have an issue with spelling & grammer - for the most part. Especially within the business or professional fields. I don't mean to but it just gets to me when I read a letter from a "professional" and there are misspelled words. These days most people use a computer to compose them so why don't they use the spell check feature or open a dictionary... I don't get it... I'm just venting here people so don't go all pyscho on me.... I'm sure I'm not the only one that is bothered by misspelled words.

Parachial (Catholic) schools have a reputation for being better than public schools. They teach mostly the same curricula - BUT is the main difference that they don't tolerate unruly children in the class room? Public school teachers have to put up with more disruptions, bad behavior, etc. - and this leads to ALL the students (even the good ones) getting less time learning. Is this accurate and worth paying the extra money?

We have had a new headteacher this year and the things that she thinks of is ridiculous. Last half term somebody slipped over on some rubbish while playing netball on the playground and NEARLY hurt herself.
Our headteacher has now said that if your not taking part in any sport activity at lunch or break on the playground then you are not allowed to go on there. She even comes and moves us off. There is like 800 pupils in my school and we all cant go along the side of the paths or in the blocks. We just get moaned at if we are in the blocks as well. The playground is a place for us to go.
What do you think about it?

I taught my son how to print when he was in pre school. I bought a book with the printed & cursive letters in it for him to practice. He taught himself how to cursive when he was 6 yrs old. He did well. He had to print while in school because that's the way the teachers wanted it. He is in 6th grade now & has always been printing. Last night I was helping him with his spacing & I asked him to write the sentence in cursive & he started to cry. He said that he didn't remember how to cursive anymore & is embarrassed at school because other kids do it & he can't & is slower at printing & the other kids get their work done before him. I told him that I would work with him every night to help him with cursive. I know he can learn because he taught himself years ago. But he has trouble with attaching the letters together. He wants to keep picking up the pencil/pen. And when he can't do something right the first time, he gets angry & throws the paper or pen. How can I teach him cursive?
