Can I buy an unlocked phone and then get it activated by my cell phone company without the company forcing me to change or upgrade my current plan?

I have a nokia N70 and i want to play movies on it. I want an open source(Free) software for it which can run movies and videos of any format. I used SmartMovie's trial version and it was really good. Can you tell me are there any other software like the smart movie player for free.

Im pretty mature and I make good grades. I also made the volleyball team so I will be traveling after school once a week if not more including practice every other day. My parents arent going to be able to make most of my games so they need to pick me up after the games and after practice. There is no telling how long my games are going to be. Im 13 should i have one i know how not to go over my minuites and my friends dont text a whole lot just a little and there are these plans where you get free minuites after 7:00 and my games should end any where from 7-8 and i would talk to my friends after that so i would get a lot of free minuites.

My friend was robbed in Egypt. His mobile was stolen. The mobile company blocked not only the simcard, but was also able to block a handset. Does it mean that you can track a handset with a simcard taken out?
Also, he was told by a friend that as long as your simcard is in and your mobile is switched on, lying within its microphone range, you can overhear the conversation nearby. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Of course you would need a special permission, blah blah - but technically - is it possible?

is it a feature of some mobile phones to add (fw:) at the beggining of the message when the SMS is forwarded to someone or does the sender write it himself ?

I got a usb cord for my phone from the internet and it works and everything but they didn't send me any software for it. I tried downloading that bitpim program but it doesn't regonize my phone when it's plugged in. My phone is an LG vx6100. Someone help me?

Before you answer think on this: Why do Home phones have unlimited minutes except for long distance calls? Why do you have to pay for minutes on a Cell phone? Why haven't a phone company created a joint venture of a Homephone with a Cellphone(without being charged for BOTH)? Can a Cellphone be used to connect with the internet and to make calls for FREE?
