Depends on what you mean by better. Some phones offer advanced features for your phonebook like tagging the entries with photos and sometimes will require the numbers be stored on the phone to use that feature. However, from an information standpoint storing to the sim is better as the numbers are easily transferred to another phone by placing the sim card into the new phone.

SIM card. There are morethan one reasons......
1- If your phone's software get correpeted in some way,ur numbers will not be lost..
2- it is easy to transfer numbers if u are changing phone
3- if ur phone is with small memory, it will increase ur mobile performance
disadvantage
in some phones if u wanna store more than one phone number , u can do it only if u use ur phone memory..so better use phone memory for such contacts....

sim card, because if you change phones it's as easy as switching sim cards. only store the speedial numbers in the phone memory (1-8)

good to store the numbers on the Sim just in case your mess up you will still have your contact.
