I'm looking to design a website with several different functions such as a search engine,drop down menus, the ability to rate and comment..among other things...any real answer would help..thanks

This is what i have to do:

Write a method to accept 10 date objects and store them in the array.

Expand the above method to create a look up table for ‘MONTHS’. ( This will have 12 elements one for each month and should contain a value showing how many times each month appears within the date object array.). Print the contents of the look up table to the screen.

Because the bucket sort looks at integers, i have tried to create a method for the months in my dates so that i could assign each month an iteger value.
e.g. final int January=0; etc

my dates are actually set in my main class and at the moment they look like this:
Date[] a = new Date[ARRAY_SIZE];
a[0]=new Date (2, "January", 2007);
a[1]=new Date (21, "Feburary", 2007); etc.

How do i get my assigned values linked with these dates? I know this example a[0]=new Date.LookUp() (2, "January", 2007); is incorrect but you should see what i am trying by calling up my lookup method which holds the int

I'm a desktop user, host my website through Apache, and program occasionally as a hobby. Now, I currently use Windows XP, and plan on it due to its widespread use. However, I wish to dual-boot along with something else, a BSD or Linux variant.

I've dabbled with Linux before, a couple different distributions, but not enough to truly make any judgments. What has drawn me to BSD over Linux though is that it's, at least relatively, structured and organized, but I'm muddled with anything else in relation to BSD.

I was wondering if anyone had feedback on this. Linux vs BSD in general, BSD for general desktop use, etc.

I need to test several servers to verify that the SMTP service is accepting connections on port 25. I prefer to do this using a VBScript. I would also prefer to do this without the need for commercial software. I am well versed in VBScript and not easily stumped, however I am at wits end. Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to edit a picture on Microsoft Paint. I want to put text on the picture, but every time I try, there is a white background around where I put my text. Is there a way to get rid of that? Or should I use a different program? Please help me!

I need to ask the user if he wants to input a new set of values. The question needs to loop untill the user answers no. The code i've used is below. I've been told that the "vbyes" comment is incorrect - and i can understand that - however i don't know what to replace it with.

I'm wanting to learn how to create professional websites? I used to create basic ones as a kid, so i'm alittle familier with html but thats about it. I'm wondering, whats the best way to learn how to create professional business sites? Are there certifications at local colleges I should go to or any online certificates or classes I could do? Are there books out there that teach you? What do you need to know these days, like cgi, java, c++ etc?? Also, I'd like to know what programs people use these days, like frontpage, adobe etc>?? I already have some of it done, which is on one notepad page, and I have about eleven others that need to be done too, but they are all pretty much the same thing. I just need someone to spruce up what I already have done and help me meet the requirements I need for this. its bit of a broad question though ok I am good at photoshop,illustrator 3ds max.....

I am programmer html, css, javascript, php , mysql. I know little macromedia flash also. I am just wondering can I become a good web designer? will people like my designs? or is artist or web designer is someone born with skill / interest in art?
Right now whatever I like or I do my marketing calleague doesn't like it. Where can I find people who will give me opinion about my designs? If anybody answering is web designer please tell me how much time it took for you to become good web designer? & did you had feeling that you will be good designer before you started? Usually in progrmming it is like 2+2 = 4 no other answer to same question but design is relative whatever you like doesn't mean lot of people will like it.
