I would like to have a mysql query that counts how many items there are for each thing that starts with each letter...
For Example: My database would have these items: "Bob", "Susie", "Billy", and "That One Kid". The result would be "B:2 S:1 T:1"

I have a database set up i have a page set up on my website a form that the user fills out after hitting submit THE FORM.HTM SHOULD GO TO TO SCRIPT.PHP and insert the record in my database through phphmyadmin it is not working what is the best way to do the php side of things?

I'm not really sure how to start my question, but I am looking for a way to manage about 100 inputs including contact information and notes field. I would like to be able to run a report by checking a box next to the name and the report would show this contact information and notes information. Is this something easy to do in filemaker or MS Access. Any help would be great. I have some experience in Access.

I am building a site that uses Japanese as input and i want to make sure that the urls are readable and make sense.

For example, a typical url would be:

domain.com/123/post_title

or in japanese:

domain.com/123/ハーパー

However, most browser are seemingly not able to render that as a url. I am able to use the default encodings so the url looks like:

domain.com/123/+%E3%83%8F%E3%83%BC%E3%83%91%E3%83%BC

or even rendering it into punycode:

domain.com/123/xn--mdke2kb

Both of these solutions are not helpful to the user, and are kind of ugly.

Is there anyway to render Unicode into phonetics or to something that is not so obfuscated or annoying?

I have a document where I have entered relatively long strings of data into individual cells....they are in the form of explanations of a result noted elsewhere on the sheet. When I go to spell check I correct the words via the spell checker...when I close and reopen, the changes seem not to have been made? Anyone ever heard of this?

I'm working on a site which must have no frames but the client wants me to eliminate the totally blank screen which appears before the next page is loaded.

The site is totally DIV based.

i need one more thing from somone out there. here's the problem:

write a method using for loops that reads an integer from the user; make sure the number is greater than 20. divide the integer by 2 and print out the result, keep repeating the division by 2 until the remainder of the division is 1 or 0. for example if the user enters 10, you should print something similar to:

10/2=5
5/2=2
2/2=1
Finished dividing

Hi friends,
I need to give my site users the functionality like what yahoo or gmail providing.

My hosting provider allowing me to create email ids using there control panel and I can read and send mails using there interface.

But I want my site work in such a way that when ever a user register for a new account he will get a mail id (user@mysite.com) that he choose and he will be able to read, categorize, search, delete and send mails using my site. Just like yahoo or gmail interface.

I am doing my site in Asp.Net.

Please guide me to achieve this.
