java.sun.com

go there and download the newest SDK (the normal one, not a mobile edition or something), and install it like every other programm by double-clicking the .exe and following the instructions. Then get some decent editor like JCreator (I forgot the home page for that one, look it up in Google, it has a free edition) and start using it.

This could be a good starting point to download everything that you need from Sun to work on Java.

You can additionally download an IDE(Integrated Development Environment) to start writing your programs. I would recommend Eclipse.
