Programming & Design - March 2007

Hi, I am a complete novice at web design. I am looking for advice on what software I should buy to help me design graphics, backgrounds, banners etc. Everything for a personal website. I want to be able to edit photos too. I want all of this but don't want it to be too complicated to understand. Have no clue about computer or graphic design jargon so plain english is a must. Don't know if I'm just asking for too much and have no idea where to look so would be grateful for your advice. Thanks :-)

I am looking for some html code to creating a calendar that is in the same format as a lotus / outlook monthly calendar.. I know I can create it with tables and what not, but I am not looking to reinvent the wheel.. Any sample code would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to add events with links to it!

Im making a website for my own little online buisness and wanted to know how you make a search engine that would say search for items that i have listed in my site or a category of items would come up when they type in a keyword.
Im using dreamweaver 8 if that helps to answer.

A is pointing to Node1, B to Node2, and C to Node5.

For example the info value of node 1, referenced from reference A would be A.getInfo().

a. The info value of node 1, referenced from reference C?

b The link value of node 2, referenced from reference A?

C The back value of node 1, referenced from reference A?

Note: Node1 circles back to Node 5 and vs versa.

I'm not sure how either one of these questions would be asked. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I was just wondering why it would be useful to use the POST in ajax (thus with URL encoded variable passing) instead of GET? Since in ajax, we're passing variable via URL.

Greetings - I am currently employed as a web copywriter for a large non-profit company, but feeling that my skills are under-utilized. However, I'm not sure what path to take. My work places me exactly between writing (for marketing and industry content) and web development. I do not have sufficient skills to be a web programer or webmaster, but I've been working in the role of information architect for a large company-wide project. I enjoy this work, although my experience in this field is strictly 'on the job' - can anyone suggest what I should do if I wanted to explore information architecture exclusively? I only have a bachelors of fine arts degree, ought I return to school for a masters? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I'm using VC++ 6.0 or so. I have one executable in a workspace that has its breakpoints disabled every time that I run it (requiring that I debug in assemble without the source obvious) while others within the same workspace can be easily debugged.

I've done most of the obvious things like using a debuggable library and turning optimizations off. Is there something inobvious, but common that I could be missing?

It seems like VS is missing the information about what line goes with what code. How do I get VS to be aware of this information?

Hi,
I'm doing my proj to convert pdf files to images. For that i'm trying to read pdf files and put it as images. I got the idea of how to do it in java. But while trying to convert into .net i have to use a package called javax.imageio.. How can i use it in .net..
