Yes I some how have a feeling;
For me personally, I've crossed C, C++, Java, C# ...etc. but seriously never found a pure OOP language as wounderful as Ruby; it is not a scripting language, but a programming one and every thing is object unlike most of the programming languages, not really pure including Java; a nil (like null) in Ruby is even an object!
What I love in Ruby is that it lets concentrate more on your problem solving techniques rather than waste your time to force satisfy your interpretor or compiler!
I do expect highly in the future from Ruby.
But coming to that point, there is no such thing called the "bosses" or "best languages"; there is however some thing called "the most suitable language for the right project"

I do think scripting is the wave coming up. But an interesting article I read stipulated about whether a java-base or a win-base structure is "best" boils down to the installed system. If we walk into a Windows business and insist the software be written in java, you will get 2nd rate software. Same applies if you walk into a Linux network and insist on .NET/vb code. php can only be serverside. java bridges that. Java6 needs to complete the JSR232 libraries so it includes completeness for Rhino, RubyOnRails, Groovy/Grail. And, if my dream came true, a java motherboard -- code/script as a text file.
