I am filling a data set in VS 2005. My database is Microsoft SQL Server 2005. I have a table and want to combine 2 fields into on under alias Name. Below is my SQL statement

select FIRM_NAME + FULL as [NAME] from ATTORNEYS

the problem is that it will return a lot of null valuse if one of the fields is null. When I was in Access could fix this by adding "&" in place of the +. Now that im in SQL and the field types are varchar it wont let me use the "&" i get the error

The data types varchar and varchar are incompatible in the boolean AND operator

How can i get around. See either they are giving full name or a Firm Name never both so insted of having 2 fields i just want to combine the fields into one under an alias and have it always have a value either the Firms Name or the Full Name or the employee. What can I use instead of the "&" that will do the samething in SQL as "&" does in Access

So once I use the lasso tool to cut out someones face, and open another picture to paste that face onto the new one, how do i resize the face?

I was just looking through all toolbars in Word the other day and in Tools >> Macro, I came accross "Visual Basics Editor". I just wanted to know if this could be used for computer programming. Also I wanted to know what is the difference between this and Visual Basics in Excel.

How can I make my PHP page check for the address on the address bar and depending on it it does something, for example if you type:
http://anything.com/page.html
and I used the 'print' function to display something and then if you type:
http://anything.com/otherpage.html
I used the same 'print' function to display something different, so basically is like URL tracking but I don't know how to do it.
Please help!

I created this website, http://www.earlyrain.com/jonathan on my Mac, and it works exactly how I want it in Safari. But, when I go to my mom's PC with 2000 on it (internet explorer 6), the entire page is just random pictures everywhere and looks horrible. Then I can go into Firefox on her PC and the placement of everything works, but some of the pictures won't show up. There's a place for them, but I can't see them.

so, I really need some help with the IE problem, seeing as I don't have these problems on my computer...

I have a taken a few Web Design courses using Dreamweaver and love it. I can write HTML, however I hate programming. I bombed my C++ class. Is it possible to be a successful Web Designer without programming? I'm looking to just create simple brochure type websites for people without all of the complex programming. There has to be a market for companies who just want a simple web page that can be created by mastering Dreamweaver and Fireworks. What do you think?

This is the code i have for closing my app. the second sub is for an exit button in a context menu.
when the app closes either by, windows closing it, clicking the "X", or using the context menu, i get a close confirmation. I would like to not get this confirmation every time i shutdown windows.

also how can i make this app a service?
