I don't know if Adobe has changed the rules, but I found with Maromedia a good way to get flash was buy the educational version (To use while you are learning how to use the software), then purchase the full upgrade. This usually costs much less than just purchasing a new retail version. As long as you DON'T distribute files commercially until you have upgraded to the full version, you are honoring all the licencing agreements.
Again, with the buyout, I don't know if this is still possible.

Adobe Flash Player is often responsible for video issues on pc. For instance I had lots of black screens on youtube. I tried to figure out the reasons myself as people keep saying very different things on the topic. In my opinion the problem is not youtube, it's something in your computer that it's not working properly and must be updated. I am sure that if you update adobe flash player you will be able to fix all your problems and your videos will start working again.
