I just executed a perl file with a mysql instruction at the begining of it. This mysql instruction is very simple and should not last more than a few seconds. However, it stays in either "locked", "system lock" or "reopen tables" status, and it does not continue, even when there is no other process running. This happens to me sometimes (not all the time) when I execute some perl files with mysql querys, from the ssh interface. Is there a way to avoid that? Is it a bug from mysql or I'm doing something wrong? Is it a problem of the server? (it's by the way a very good dedicated server and I'm paying a lot of money for it). Is there a way to avoid this problem from happening again?? Thanks a lot in advance!!!

I just want to add a simple userid and password login/registration page for my site. I am trying to build it in Dreamweaver which provides server behaviors for doing this but I am having an awful time setting the connection to the database. Any helpful suggestions or links with information about it will be greatly appreciated.

Hey All,

I recently had to extract text from an undefined file type in my user application data folder. The file is from 3M's Post-it Notes software and is in code. I successfully opened the file in Microsoft Word, but some of the code was not formatted to readable text.

I do not know what code this is or how to convert it. Can anyone possibly point me to a decipher program or anything else?

Here is a sample of the code:
t x 5 7 6 0 \ t x 6 4 8 0 \ t x 7 2 0 0 \ t x 7 9 2 0 \ t x 8 6 4 0 \ t x 9 3 6 0 \ t x 1 0 0 8 0 \ t x 1 0 8 0 0 \ t x 1 1 5 2 0 \ t x 1 2 2 4 0 \ t x 1 2 9 6 0 \ t x 1 3 6 8 0 \ t x 1 4 4 0 0 \ t x 1 5 1 2 0 \ t x 1 5 8 4 0 \

The site loads just fine in Firefox. But when I look at it using Internet Explorer, it gives me the following text at the top:

It's repeated several times. Browser is up to date. Try it with both browsers for yourself to see what happens. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I do apologize for having to include this in my question, but because the programming section is usually plagued full of slackers, pranksters, embeciles, and just plain ignorant individuals that interfere with those of us that wish to use this sub-site as a learning tool, it must be included: Please READ the darn question before you answer it. Please give an INTELLIGENT answer, not Huh? wot? I dunno, etc. ... Please PAY attention Do not give me code for VB5 under WinNT, DJCPP, or GCC on Linux, when all you had to DO was READ the whole question to realize I do not want that particular information. Thank you all for letting me speak my piece. Now on to the rest of myt question. I can use code in VC6, Visual C++ 2005, and Visual C# 2005. Managed / .NET is acceptable as well. I can use code for any Win32 OS. However, I do NOT do VB6, VB.NET, .VBS, Linux or any code developed for a Non-Microsoft OS. Thanks for all the help.

I know garbage collection takes over, but why can't you explicitly delete objects in java? It seems that with programming languages, or you can either have something like garbage collection, or you have to manage memory yourself. Is there a reason there can't be both? Is there a reason there ISN'T both?

I created a website that uses a frameset. When I view it on my local computer they work well, but when I upload it to the web server the pages in the frames don't load (I get a file not found page).

OK, so I'm trying to step into some code in a .dll and need to attach to a process that's currently running. I'm using MS VisualStudio (and coding in C++ if it matters).

I select "attach to process" and the box that comes up shows nothing. Not even system processes. The really annoying part is that this used to work (a few weeks ago) and I don't remember changing anything.

I assume it's not looking in the right place, but don't know how to tell it what to do. Any ideas?

The template folder contains a large photoshop file, an index.html file and an images folder. When I open the index.html file in Dreamweaver, a complex table comes up which is packed with images. Some of the images are filled with "Lorem ipsum" blocks of text.
Now I want to add my own text, instead of Lorem ipsum which is built straight into one of the images. Is editing the text from Photoshop the only way of dealing with this kind of template?
I'm sorry if I'm not clear enough.
Many thanks
