Yes, in order to ensure that program they are about to realease is compatible with most computers, has very little (if any) bugs, and causes no undesired consequences for the user. Most of the testing is done in alpha testing (only personal) and beta testing (pre-release given away to a few people).

Yes, because the qualities needed to write (or try to write) good software are different from the qualities needed to brutally try to make it fail with bad input data, clicking the wrong buttons, etcetera. So the software company needs at least two different kinds of people to have a chance of shipping a robust quality product.

there is no such a 100% Quality software but i think software Industry needs QA Engineers. To avoid Critical Errors that may affect the whole important transaction or data.
