Most certainly and really, learning AJAX can be done in as little as a couple hours. Why not learn something new and use it for atlas as well as other projects?

While frameworks are designed to make the overall coding much simpler and easier to use, it is always an asset to know what is "under the hood" so to speak when dealing with such software.

Below I have provided a nice resource for you to get some ideas about AJAX and how it is designed. Has some examples and everything, from there you can decide if you want to learn AJAX with Atlas or not.

Hope these resources help you out.

It definitely help to know and understand how AJAX works, even though a lot of the AJAX capabilities within .NET and Atlas are controls that you just add to your page. Learn it.
