Do i need to buy any program or anything additional for my computer? How do I post things to the website? How do I set up different pages? Is it additional money for extra pages? I will appreciate any help, i am so lost when it comes to starting a website! Thanks!

I am trying to learn webpage writing. i wrote some example code using MS word. When I view the code as a webpage there are a bunch of characters before and after the body that I didn't write.

How do I avoid this.

It also happened when I wrote the code in 'textedit'. But different strange characters appeared.

I was pretty much into computer programming during the 80s. I have a radio shack's PC-2 computer. I had en interface and printer. It wore out and couldn't get it fixed because radio shack does not make parts for it any more.
I want to get back into programming. Using the windows-XP. Where do I get the software and the book. And how much it cost?
The reason I want the book is because it teaches from the beginning. The manuel that comes with the software teaches from lower level to current level. For instense visual baics-4 goes from vb-3.

I am looking at changing webhosts. My new host wants to know how big my website is in MB or GB. I have no idea on how to find that information out as it isnt in my control panel that my current host offers. Is there are website that can measure this for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a software called the GIMP and someone who is kinda experienced w/artistic stuff told me I can clone it to make it straight-on. see I'm making like a virtual outfit and they said cloning will also cover up the arms cuz my picture shows the arms. but when I tried to use the clone feature nothing happened and I clicked all over the picture. it just had that cancel symbol. anyway if I'm using the wrong software plz tell me what else I can use that is free or at least free trial.

Ive been looking at web page software, but ive got an ftp program for posting, so whats best for putting the page together, are the built in microsoft programs like word, etc any good. I Have office but never done more than print out a letter with word.

I also have files - FDP - FDS - TGA - NIF - KF. I am not familiar with how to edit any of these files. My intent is to change only the name of a few characters. What editor software can I use? So far the only file that I could edit was FDS with a text program (notepad). Thanks for any help.
