A few days back my broadband connection was given by LAN and it gets automatically connected whenever i switch on my computer.whereas before i needed to click on the icon and type my user name and password.when i check my status from my brodband icon below my usage is represented in packets.Usually it goes in bytes.But after switching to LAN it goes jumping in packets.So please help me as to how many packets make an mb.Or what does it represent.I am not able to change my user name and password after switching on to LAN connection. If i needed to how should i have to do that.Please Help.

I've been trying every proxy site I can find, but they're all blocked. anything with proxy in the address or in a general description of the site are blocked, just like anything with adult or myspace.

and before someone leaves an anwser about how I'm wasting tax payers money and being lazy (lke someone always does in these topics) this is something I'm doing when I'm finished with the assignments.

A friend of mine wants to upgrade his Windows software and mentioned that he'll probably just go to the torrents and download a version. I told him that this might be a bad idea since legal issues aside, the versions might have hidden 'bots or backdoors allowing users to hack his system. Is downloading software like this a bad idea (even if thoroughly virus scanned)????

I think one of my kids changed something and don't know how they did it..?? My font is too small, my icons, everything....can you help me? I know how to change font size on my home page (view button) but what about desktop,display page, sign in screen, toolbar, etc...?? Help!!!!!!! Please be detailed...I am not super computer literate!!
