It wasn't busy at all, there were three other empty spaces right next to me, but it was right in front of the store and I ended up walking to another store so I was parked there for approximately 40 minutes. My car was still there, there was no ticket in the window when I returned, but when I got back to my car and realized it, this employee from the store looked out at me twice.. Should I be expecting a ticket in the mail? help please.

Everytime I arrive at an intersection, I press the "Press To Walk" button, but it doesn't seem to make the lights change any faster.

Therefore, my question is:

Do the "Press To Walk" buttons at intersections really work?

And, if so, how do they work?

Thanks in advance.

Recently, I had been attacked by a lady due to road rage. Traffic was almost at a complete standstill over an hour. My lane was merging into hers. She was upset, when I got in front of her. So her mom started yelling profanity. I told them I had my 2yr old nephew and 4yr old daughter in the car. They didn't care. The 20-something daughter ran up to my car, just as I was rolling up all windows and locking the door. She yanked on my door, yelling profanity. I told her I was calling the cops, which I did. My daughter is in the back seat crying and scared. However, traffic started moving and I couldn't get a description of her car because she put her brights on. What is wrong with these people?? And my sister was with me and knows the mom. She lives near her in our small town!!

I also was driving without a license and I got a ticket for that as well, how much will both of them cost? I know that I am in deep **** so please dont remind me of that. I am just wondering how much this stuff will cost me. I have to go to two courts monday and I am kind of scared because I am only 17 and I have no idea what is going to happen. I know that I will have to do community service and stuff but I am just scared that I am going to get sued by the three people that I bumped into. It was a chain reaction sort of thing and I didnt break in time so I hit the back of one care, then that car slightly bumped another and then another.

Before you call me a jackass, I must state: No, I won't be trying this on a public road.

I'm new to driving in the snow, using a RWD car that lost it's TCS and ABS. The one time I took my car through heavy snow(built-up) I went at a decent pace, but could still feel the rear slipping here and there. I had to do 3 minor recoveries that day. I know about how braking, turning, and throttling too much will make the rear fly, so this question is for the rare case of hitting something on the road or having a wheel go over ice, resulting in the car going well beyond the usual recovery angle.

If there is no traffic, I should definitely just use the brakes and let the car slide sideways 'til it stops, I know. If there's traffic following behind, doing so may cause a pileup, thus, I imagine it would be safer to voluntarily make the rear slide a bit more, and doing a 360°. Out of the question if there's traffic ahead, obviously.

The question: How would I go about throttling and steering?

I was coming up to an intersection, trying to make a right turn and once i got to the intersection the light was red so i stopped for about 3 seconds and i looked around for cars and i did not see any cars, so i signaled and made a wide right turn to the left lane, and once i made the turn there was a car right behind me, the car behind me was going straight the whole way and it was his green, and as i turned and was going straight for about 2 or 3 feet he hit the divider on the left side of him because did not want to hit me, then after he had hit the divider he then hit my back left bumper with his front right bumper. Who's at fault?

Hey yall,

I have a weird question; how do yall drive in the snow ? I'm embarrassed to ask this, but this is my first winter living in the North and to be honest, I've never really even seen snow before, let alone had to drive in it. I am SO stressed out over this! If I drive slow, all I get is a bunch of inpatient yankees tailing me, flashing their lights and honking their horns and then I get even more stressed but I don't dare to speed up as I'm afraid I'll go off the road. I'd take my good ole Alabama weather and hurricanes any day over snow!!!

Any suggestions or simple words of encouragement ? LOL I'm fixin to go crazy one of these days if things don't change...HA!

Thanks for any thoughts!

The biggest killer in the US is an automobile being driven too fast or too recklessly.....The maximum speed limit on interstates is 80 MPH.....so...it seems to be that building a car that will go over 85 MPH is irresponsible and dangerous. What about passing a law outlawing cars that go over 85 MPH? There is no legitimate use for cars that do and evidence that driving over the speed limit is a major killer.

New cars could be fitted with a governor to limit speed...that is done with rental trucks now....and older cars that were designed to go over 85 dollars could be purchased back by the government and crushed. There is a precident for this..gun buy backs.....today in St Louis the city government bought back hundreds of guns. no questions asked....many were stolen....but..turn it in and get your fifty bucks....let's do the same thing with corvettes and mustangs....make them illegal and buy them back for five hundred bucks and crush them. What ya say?

I was recently in a car accident where the car hit the highway median and flipped a few times before landing, and it was totaled. I got out with just a bloody knee and a cut. Without my seatbelt I for sure wouldve been seriously injured even dead. I remember saying to myself during the accident "thank god for this seatbelt" bc it was restraining me so much.

Anyways, I was wondering what the death rate is for those who wear seatbelts. Whenver I hear of an accident where someone dies they weren't wearing a seatbelt. Now how many deaths occur even though the victim is wearing a seatbelt?

Alan I. Leshner, Director of the National Institute of Drug Abuse, defines drug addiction as “uncontrollable, compulsive drug seeking and use, even in the face of negative health and social consequences.”

What does that definition mean to you both as a driver responsible for your own actions, and as a driver sharing the road with other cars, pedestrians, and cyclists?

Old towns are often filled with one way streets. I don't understand why they couldn't make streets that go both directions. It seems like a waste of space not to mention a headache if you miss your turn and have to drive all the way around to find a street that goes the opposite direction.
