I’m flying a realistic simulator of a Cessna 172. In the middle of the instrument panel to the right of the left seat (Captain’s seat?) there is a horizontal row of a blue, yellow, and white light. Sometimes two or three minutes around takeoff when I’m at four of five hundred feet, one of the lights start blinking, and an beeping alarm goes off. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

You are on final approach with 150 souls on board in a 737-700 Southwest Airlines. You are lets say 3 nautical miles from a 8000 foot runway. 25 degree flaps and obviously your landing gear down. Engines 1 and 2 go out due to a surge and you are at 145 knots with a landing speed of 143. Would you raise your flaps or risk lowering it to 30 and give you some extra lift and hope for a higher altitude and lower speed short final.

I understand that some are hit by hostile fire, But many are reported as mechanical or pilot error.

I live in an area with loads of helicopter traffic: multiple overlapping police agencies, flights to oil rigs, private buisinessmen, some military, and (believe it or not, the largest number of helicopter flights around here is) the movement of cancelled checks from one bank to another.

In the 26 years I've lived here I can't recall a helicopter crash. So why are our people i n Iraq getting killed? Is there something wrong with the aircraft? Are the pilots not experienced enough?

We lost 13 soldiers this wknd and their not sure if it was fired on.

Whay are our people dying?

You've been flying for years, and have a better view of weather and atmosphere than the rest of us. Are there things that you've noticed over the years as a signpost that air travel affect weather?

I'm in a B744 simulator, lined up on one end of a 10k ft long rwy cleared for T/O. i've configured my flaps 10 and a V2+10 (164kts). VNAV/LNAV armed, AT on. airport elevation is 200ft MSL and ATC had cleared me for 8000. I gradually pushed the trottles to 70% and when N1 spool up to 70% i pushed TOGA. 80.. V1.. at Vr I pulled up to 10 degrees and when +ve climb i set gears up. by this time i'm already V2+20! so I pull further to meet the FD. I managed to slow down to V2+10 following the FD. but very quickly I've passed 400 ft and VNAV had engaged. it auto set my AT to 250kts so i intervene it cos i need to manovuer a turn at the most 200kts. but the PFD is still blank (no SPD or THR setting) no matter how many times I press VNAV. the speed just keep spooling up like nobody's business and when I put to AP the pitch went up to 5000 VS and speed drops to 130kts! to prevent stall i level off and managed 200 kts, I press VNAV again and still 5000 VS it goes and IAS drops! Wat is VNAV doing?

All I can find is Skychoice, looking day after day for the city I want to fly to. My schedule is flexible, but I wish you could just search for the skysaver seats. Is there anyway to do this online?
