what i am looking for is the amount of time of a radar range mile( the time it takes the rf energy to travel 1 nautical mile and return to the source)

If you're early-warning, tracking, and acquisition radars, than it's actually the slant range. This is slightly over 1 Nautical Mile (6000 ft).

The radar wave travels at the speed of light. the "mile" for ground based radar is actually 6000' instead of 5280'

it is how long it takes the electromagnetic wave to go one mile.
i forget the number. but it is usually a nautical mile.
