As a fossile fuel burning piece of equipment, there is no question airplanes contribute to global warming. However personally, as a pilot, I have not seen anything in my aviation career that would show it.
Also, if the auto industry was a proactive about fuel effieciency as the aviation industry has been, we'd consume far less gas, and contribute far pollution. The strides made in jet engines with regards to fuel efficiency and emissions are nothing short of astounding.

I do believe its happening, and I do believe that greenhouse gas emissions are part of the culprit. However, airplanes are FAR more efficient than most medium sized cars and large trucks. Consider this: Aircraft account for nearly a quarter the miles travelled by all people in the US in the past year, yet account for only 2% of the fuel consumption.
Travelling aboard an airliner is roughly equivalent in terms of emissions to packing 5 people into a Hybrid vehicle and driving it to your destination.

I honestly don't think pilots are qualified to make the judgment. I suppose they can certainly observe "differences" but it takes more than that. Look at what's happening to Antarctica! Some people will say--hey! Can't be no such global warming! Lookit all them there snow storms all over the country! There are many indications of global warming--but gosh, I'm just a nasty Liberal who gives a d--- about the planet. You really should check it out from CREDIBLE sources. You'll find nonsense on both sides, but I think if you cared enough to ask, you'll know what to believe.

Oh my flipping note, human beings, international warming? Who cares, stay spontaneously, do not imagine of whats going to take position. No offense, yet international warming is only a collection of tripe about no longer something. particular those who imagine we are ruining our international attempt to make us experience undesirable. :)
