I am 60 years old and am disabled.

There are a few different questions here Please answer them ALL

I get SSDI, Workers Comp and will start to get a small pension ( $81.00 ) in Dec

I am told the pension is taxable,

But that is less than $1000.00 per year

Do I have to file a return for that amount ????

Are there limits to any other additonal income I may get ( like lottery winnings - I won $2700.00 in May ) ( like must get over $5,000.00 to file taxes ).

OR do I add the extra income ( the Pension and lottery - then subtract my individual deduction and pay taxes on the remaining.

I have been searching the net and CAN NOT find the asnswers
and do not have a lot of extra money to be using an accountant.

I get just over $12,000.00 from SSDI & Worker Comp.

So my income is around 13000.00 with the pension

I think my individual deduction is $3500.00

I admit it, I have severe cognitive deficits when it comes to personal taxes. My husband and I end up owing 2-3000 every year. We don't know how to figure out our W-4's to get the correct amount taken out. We've been doing H&R Block Tax Cut program CD at home but can't navigate it to take advantage of possible tax breaks w/o going nuts. Should we just go to a personal tax advisor, accountant, fly-by-night Jackson Hewitt kiosk at mall?

... name?

When you die, Pennsylvania treats the money that you leave to your spouse in an IRA as INCOME when she files for a property tax rebate.

The amazing thing is that the state once again treats that same money as income when she makes actual withdrawals.

So, the state penalizes your spouse TWICE --- once when the IRA is changed from your name to her name and once again when your spouse actually receives cash from the IRA.

When i search around Yahoo Answers, i see people mentioning "CPA" i am wondering what that is. Also, what is the difference between an accountant working for a company, such as the bank, and a public accountant.

This page is dedicated to all of you who hate taxes and everything that has to do with them.

We have to pay taxes, because we have dogs. But our dogs never go outside our garden. (we have this huge garden with meadows and horses and such, sort of a farm). The money we pay is used for the cleaning of dogpoop in cities. Thus, we are very angry and we would like your opinion.
