The lower number you list for exemptions, the more taxes will be withheld therefore you should receive a higher refund check depending on your financial situation.

The lower the number of allowances you put on your W-4, the more they take out of your paycheck - if you overpay you'll get the extra back as a refund. It's the same money, you just get it at a different time - in your paycheck if you claim a higher number of allowances on your W-4, or in your refund if you claim a lower number on your W-4.

the FEWER exemptions you claim, the more is withheld each check, and therefore the more you get back at the end of the year. But why should the gov't. hold your money?

More exemptions/dependents means you pay less taxes. How much you get back depends more on how much you paid in than what your tax liability is.

If you get 1 penny back on a tax refund. You suck at finances.

You are giving interest free money to a savings account, when its your money.

As the saying goes, *The lottery is for people that suck at math*. As I said if you get 1 penny back on your taxes you gave the Government an interest free loan. So you are in that group.

Hire a 3rd grader that knows basic math to figure out your taxes, because if you are getting anything back. You didnt save money you lost it.
