1. The company I worked for was taken over and my employee purchased stock was exchanged at the ratio of 0.7104. My number of shares was reduced fro 935 to 664. The orginal price was $29.00.

2. Later there was a reverse split 1:7. Leaving me with 94 shares.

I sold some this year and need to find the basis. Does anyone know where I can find an example on how to find the basis or know how to do so?

I'm looking for a way to pay the taxes on my bonus toward the END of the tax year (April 15) instead of when I receive the bonus (January). Last year (January 2007) I got hit with a 45% tax deduction which completely ruined the bonus for me. Is there a form I need to file with my payroll department to avoid the taxes and then after receiving the bonus change it back? Thanks very much taking a minute to assist me.

me and a friend have an oral contract that he would pay me for the work that i do landscaping, i would get paid the same amount twice per month. He told me on oct. 16th that he could no longer afford me. We had an agreement that i would be paid twice a month until may. I would also do snow removal in the winter. i worked with him all last year summer and winter and he also gave me a bonus this spring for doing this for a year. he now does not want to pay because he says he cant afford to pay me through winter. Help!! I have reciepts from all the checks he has written me thus far. and also tax forms from 06.

i was thinking that the feds can change the monetary policy by increasing int rate to increase invesment, but on the other hand. the gov't can change the fiscal policy by lowering taxes to increase invesment too... which would the govt likely do?

My husband and I are separated but we have not filed divorce papers yet. We have been separated since very early this year and I moved out with our daughter at the end of April. We didn't know what way was the best way to go with filing our taxes so we thought if we held off on filing for divorce until either late this year or early next year we would file our taxes as married one last time and split the return. My question is, is that right now on my W2 I have listed my daughter and him as dependents and I have no withholdings (I don't make that much). Should I change my W2 in January to Head of Household and drop him as a dependent then? Or what? I'm confused.

Can any one educated in this area give me some advice?

if I were to move to China (Shanghai) for a 2yr tour for business work, how does the taxes work out? If I am a contractor here in the US and pay around 33% of my income to the IRS, will I still need to pay this (even though I'm living in China), and will I need to pay any taxes for the Chinese gov't?
